Welcome to the Edmonton
Chevra Kadisha
The Edmonton Chevra Kadisha (Holy Society) was established in 1907. Since this time, it has provided burial services to the Jewish community in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.
The Edmonton Chevra Kadisha is a volunteer association, comprised of dedicated men and women who give their time and energy to organize and perform all the religiously required tasks of burying Jewish deceased including preparing the deceased for burial, dressing them in ritual garments sown by volunteers, and burying them in a plain coffin. The Chevra Kadisha owns and operates the Edmonton Jewish Cemeteries as a service to the community.
